About Pure Heritage

Pure Heritage is a group of farmers who have come together to produce really healthy and tasty flour in a manner that is radically different from normal cereal growing. We are a grass roots organisation of down to earth farmers who realise that something has to change as modern agriculture is less about husbanding the soil and more about ignoring it and using large amounts of artificial inputs to force a crop. Growing our heritage crops leads to much lower yields but the grain from these historic wheats is more nutrient dense and bags much more flavour. Also by choosing to buy our products you are becoming part of a virtuos circle of getting a great product whilst helping make positive changes to the environment at a quicker pace  than we could achieve without your support.

Our heritage wheat fields receive very few inputs and we have developed a protocol for growing these wonderful crops to make sure they are grown to a uniformly high standard by all our members.

Our farmers believe that healthy food comes from healthy soil. Our growers are farmers who have a holistic approach and are striving to improve their farms soil and the ecosytems that are symbiotic with the soil. Their soils are becoming more alive the plants are healthier thus reducing and often eliminating the need for synthetic inputs.

Their farms will have a room for nature to thrive whilst at the same time producing healthy and tasty food.

They are members of national environmental stewardship schemes to enhance nature.

Their farms are all being audited for Carbon sequestration and most heritage crops are carbon neutral.

They are all Red Tractor Assured.

They are all members of the Nature Friendy Farming Network a body to network and exchange knowledge with other farmers and the public.
